Police Appeal Results In Witness Coming Forward After Eastbourne Death

Police investigating a woman's death in Eastbourne have identified a man they sought to speak with as a witness.

Officers were called to a report of a woman in cardiac arrest in an alleyway in Belmore Road, Eastbourne on 2/04/2026.

Sadly she was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The woman, a local woman from Eastbourne aged 44, was identified and her next of kin were informed. Our thoughts remain with them at this time.

Her death is currently being treated as unexplained and officers are reviewing the wider circumstances.

Following an appeal issued on 27 April, we can confirm that we have identified a man we wished to speak with as a witness and he has assisted with our enquiries.
