A search and rescue helicopter crew has this morning (April 4) reportedly winched a casualty up from the cliffs at Beachy Head.
According to H.M. Coastguard, emergency services were alerted at 9.15am, with reports of an injured person at the East Sussex landmark.
Rescue teams from Eastbourne, Birling Gap and Newhaven attended, together with Eastbourne's RNLI volunteer lifeboat crew.
They were joined by SECAmb paramedics, and the search and rescue helicopter from Lydd.
A casualty was airlifted to Brighton Hospital for medical treatment.
No information has been given about the condition of the injured person.
A report from the scene said a base jumper using the cliff at Beachy Head was involved, but emergency services have not yet been able to confirm this to More Radio.
