Brighton Vs Liverpool Preview: De Zerbi To Drop Klopp?

Brighton and Hove Albion take on Liverpool at the Amex Stadium tomorrow (Saturday, 3pm).

The Seagulls have been impressive since their return to action, and were bolstered in midweek by the return of World Cup winning midfield maestro Alexis Mac Allister.

Only one point separates the two sides after 17 matches, so Brighton can leapfrog their opponents with a win.

The Seagulls have been among the most in-form sides in the division, picking up four wins out of six in the league.

Liverpool have the same recent record, but come into this game on the back of a very poor 3-1 defeat at Brentford and fortunate 2-2 FA Cup draw against Wolves.

Historically, the two sides have met on 36 occasions, with Brighton only managing five wins, 11 games ending all square and Liverpool triumphing on 20 occasions.

Last season a pulsating game at Anfield ended 3-3, while Liverpool won 2-0 at the Amex.

Injury and suspension news

Jakub Moder is the hosts' only injury absentee for this game, with the Poland midfielder targeting a return from a knee problem next month.

Diogo Jota, Arthur, Luis Diaz, Firmino and Virgil Van Dijk all remain out of contention, while James Milner is likely to return.

Darwin Nunez faces a late fitness test, with recent acquisition Cody Gakpo waiting in the wings.

Possible line-ups

Brighton (4-3-3):

Liverpool (4-3-3)

Prediction: Brighton 1 - 2 Liverpool

The Reds have a point to prove if they're going to keep pace with the leading pack.

It should be a tight match, but I fancy Liverpool to sneak victory by the odd goal.
