Church Services And Moments Of Reflection To Be Held In Sussex To Commemorate The Life Of The Queen

Churches in Sussex will be holding services of thanksgiving for the life of Queen Elizabeth II and residents can hold the Sunday minute silence together.

Residents in Sussex are being invited to join church services to commemorate the Queen's life as well as join in a National Moment of Reflection on Sunday evening at 8pm. You can follow the one minute silence on the radio or on national TV stations and many councils are suggesting people stand on their doorsteps.

There will also be services taking place throughout Sussex including:

• Special prayers at The Shree Sanatan Mandir (Hindu Temple) at the Apple Tree Centre in Crawley from 10.30am today (Friday 16th).
• St Anne's Church, The Parish Church of Lewes, 6.30pm, Sunday, September 18th. Lewes District Council is also suggesting a doorstep tribute to the Queen for the 8pm, one minute silence.
• St Mary the Virgin, Eastbourne Parish Church, Old Town, 6pm, to be attended by civic dignitaries. A doorstep tribute at 8pm is also being suggested in Eastbourne.
• Battle Town Council invites residents to attend the Moment of Reflection at Abbey Green at 7.55pm. 
• A National Minute of Silence and Reflection will be held outside Hastings Town Hall on Sunday at 8pm, with dignitaries attending. The public is also invited to watch the Queen's funeral on a screen, which will be set up near the bandstand in Alexandra Park in Hastings (on the top lawn) from 10am on Monday.
• There will be two venues screening the Queen's funeral in Wealden: Sty Mary's Parish Church, Hailsham and The Picturehouse, Uckfield (free tickets to be booked online at the picturehouse website)
• Brighton Palace Pier will be screening the funeral on Monday.
