Fire crews were called to a farm in Worthing last night (Monday) after a fire in the open nearby caused two engines to attend the scene.
A spokesperson for West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service said:
“Last night at 7.13pm we were called to a fire in the open near the A27 Sompting Bypass.
“Joint Fire Control mobilised two fire engines from Worthing and an off-road vehicle from Shoreham to the scene.
“Upon arrival the crew found two large out of control bonfires affecting hedgerows.
“Firefighters remained on scene damping down and used a thermal imaging camera to ensure there were no further hotspots."
There were no injuries as a result of this incident, with the crew leaving the scene at 8.24pm.
