Easter Weekend 'Kill The Bill' Protests Planned In Brighton

Sussex Incidents 999 @SussexIncidents

So-called 'Kill The Bill' protestors are planning to take to Brighton's streets this afternoon (Saturday).

People are planning to demonstrate against The Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill at The Level from 1pm.

The legislation, grants police additional powers to restrict protests.

Protests last week, involving around 1,800 people, didn't result in any arrests.

No public statement was released by police following the protests.

However, there are reports that a larger police presence will be in force today.

On March 20, further protests were carried out, as previously reported by More Radio.

After a successful Second Reading in the House of Commons, the Bill is being sent to a Public Bill Committee.

They are due to report back to the Commons, after their scrutiny of the Bill, by June 24th.

If you are attending, you can send pictures to [email protected] and we will use them with a credit.
