Former Staff Member Charged With Thefts From East Sussex Post Office

A man from Hastings has been charged with thefts from an East Sussex village post office where he was working part-time between 2018 and 2019.

Police said Ian Doe, 49, of Woodlands Way, Hastings, has been served with a court summons to appear at Hastings Magistrates Court on 2 December, charged with the theft of £970 cash from the post office at Burwash.

Doe was working as a part-time assistant at the combined post office and village shop in the village, for the Post Office Sub-Postmaster who also runs the shop.

The prosecution, authorised by the CPS, follows an investigation by detectives from the East Sussex Investigations Team.
