Firefighters are tackling a blaze at a property in a village just north of Chichester Harbour (Monday).
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said four engines were at the scene in Hambrook, at around 5.31pm.
A water carrier is also at the scene in West Ashling Road.
West Ashling Road was closed between Newells Land and Cheesemans Lane just before 6pm.
Officials said the fire was brought under control and the road was due to reopen by 7pm.
Nearby residents were advised to keep windows and doors closed.
