Emergency services were called to a Worthing flat in the early hours of this morning (Sunday), rescuing a man trapped at a residential address.
Fire, ambulance and police crews were called to Chatham Road at 4.20am, remaining at the scene for almost two hours while the blaze was extinguished.
The man, who was rescued from the flat, was left in the care of the local ambulance service.
A West Sussex Fire & Rescue spokesperson said:
“We were called at 4.20am to a fire in a flat in Chatham Road, Worthing.
"Four crews were in attendance, three from Worthing and one from Shoreham.
"One male was rescued and handed into the care of SECAmb and all other persons were accounted for. Crews remained at the scene until 6.12am.”
