The coastguard attended an incident on Rottingdean beach on Saturday morning, during a multi-agency response involving lifeboats and helicopters.
HM Coastguard crews from Newhaven, Shoreham and Birling Gap, assisted Sussex Police following an initial report of a missing woman at 6am on October 1.
A coastguard helicopter from Lydd and an RNLI lifeboat from Newhaven also attended.
Police have now confirmed that was woman was found safe.
