Campaign group Surfers Against Sewage gathered at Brighton Beach, just west of the pier, on Saturday (May 20).
It was their latest protest against water companies' 'legal' sewage outflows into our rivers, streams and the sea.
It follows an apology by water and sewage firms in England last Thursday (May 18) for "not acting quickly enough" on spills - and a vow to spend £10bn to clean up their act.
