A warning about the use of electric scooters has been issued by Chichester District Council after a rise in the use of the vehicles has been recorded.
It's reminding the public that an on the spot fine of £300 can be issued should someone be found using one in any public place - this includes including roads and footpaths.
It comes as the Government is currently running e-scooter rental trials in some locations - although none of these are anywhere in Sussex.
In a statement, the council said:
"We’ve noticed a recent increase in the illegal use of electric scooters in our area, and so we are reminding people that it is against the law to use a privately-owned electric scooter (or e-scooter) on public roads, footpaths and all public areas."
