Spike In Worthing's Positive Covid-19 Tests

Government Covid-19 Tests for Worthing Residents, to September 9

There's been a spike in positive Covid-19 tests from people living in Worthing.

Official figures show a total of 37 positive tests between September 1 and Wednesday (September 9).

Diagnoses peaked on September 3, when 13 new cases were recorded.

As the official testing system develops, with some testing centres closing, others opening, and home testing kits being sent out in quantity, the apparent spike in numbers is difficult to interpret at this point.

However, the rate of infection is still below the average for England.

In Worthing, latest statistics give this figure as 549 people infected per 100,000 population, whereas for Worthing the figure is 429.

According to the government, here are the raw figures since August 31st, leading to a total number of cases of 474, recorded on September 9.
