Suspected Wartime Bomb Exploded — Deliberately — Outside Camber

A warning from the emergency services about unexploded wartime ordnance in Sussex

A suspected wartime bomb has been detonated in a field in Camber, in the coastal area near the East Sussex border with Kent.

Police in Rother confirmed this morning that armed forces bomb disposal experts arrived to inspect the reported ordnance around 3.30pm yesterday (January 17).

The Explosive Ordanance Team then destroyed the device in a controlled explosion where it was found, away from the general public.

Bomb disposal team members confirmed the device was safely disposed of.
