Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident outside a primary school in Eastbourne on Monday morning (Sept 13).
At around 9am officers were called to Parklands Infant School in Parkfield Avenue after they received reports of a group of adults arguing.
There had been a minor collision and a male passenger in a white Range Rover had confronted the woman driving the other car, a silver Vauxhall.
A man and a woman came over to try to intervene, but became involved in the incident.
A 24-year-old local woman suffered injuries to her face and neck in the incident, and her mobile phone was broken.
A 27-year-old local man also suffered head, chest and leg injuries.
Officers arrested a man, aged 36, on suspicion of assault and using threatening behaviour with the intent to cause fear and a 36-year-old woman on suspicion of assault and causing criminal damage.
Both suspects, who are from Eastbourne, were released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.
