Witness Appeal After Incident Outside Eastbourne School

Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident outside a primary school in Eastbourne on Monday morning (Sept 13).

At around 9am officers were called to Parklands Infant School in Parkfield Avenue after they received reports of a group of adults arguing.

There had been a minor collision and a male passenger in a white Range Rover had confronted the woman driving the other car, a silver Vauxhall.

A man and a woman came over to try to intervene, but became involved in the incident.

A 24-year-old local woman suffered injuries to her face and neck in the incident, and her mobile phone was broken.

A 27-year-old local man also suffered head, chest and leg injuries.

Officers arrested a man, aged 36, on suspicion of assault and using threatening behaviour with the intent to cause fear and a 36-year-old woman on suspicion of assault and causing criminal damage.

Both suspects, who are from Eastbourne, were released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.

Anybody who witnessed the incident or captured footage on a dash-cam or other device is asked to report online or by calling 101, quoting serial 278 of 13/09.
