Bexhill & Rother Homelessness Unity Group (HUG) CIO

Supporting those who are homeless, at risk of becoming homeless or are vulnerably housed.
Bexhill and Rother Homelessness Unity Group (HUG) CIO is a local Christian charity operating out of St Barnabas Church in the town centre. It provides a vital, non-judgmental "Safe Space" where homeless, at-risk, and vulnerably housed individuals can access hot meals, showers, clean clothes, and practical emotional support.
The Safe Space Drop-In: Guests can come in for hot/cold drinks, food, warmth, and friendship. Operating hours at St Barnabas Church are Mondays and Thursdays (8:30 am to 11:30 am, serving hot breakfast) and Saturdays (3:00 pm to 5:00 pm).
Practical Facilities: With financial support from the Rother District Council, the charity offers access to showers and clothes-washing amenities
Wider Welfare Support: HUG collaborates with local agencies to help guests with form-filling, appointments, and housing. Uniquely, it also supports the health and vaccination needs of pets owned by the homeless.
