Audio Guides Launched At Brighton And Eastbourne Stations

Blind and partially sighted passengers can now access audio guides at Brighton and Eastbourne railway stations to help them prepare for journeys.
The guides describe station layouts, including platforms, seating and other features, helping people familiarise themselves with unfamiliar surroundings before travelling.
They have been developed by Sight Loss Council volunteers and staff at Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR), which operates Southern and Thameslink services.
Dave Smith, from sight loss charity Thomas Pocklington Trust, said the guides offered an accessible alternative to traditional station maps.
GTR says it is encouraging feedback from passengers as it considers whether to introduce the guides at more stations.
Audio guides are also available for Thameslink trains, most Southern services and Great Northern trains serving Moorgate.
The guides can be found on the Southern Railway, Thameslink and Great Northern websites.
