A Mid Sussex charity football match is set to return for its 11th year this May, raising funds for a local organisation supporting people with learning disabilities.

The annual event will take place on 23 May and has, over the past decade, raised both money and awareness for a number of causes, including Children With Cancer Polegate, the Rockinghorse Appeal and the Alzheimer’s Society.

For 2026, the match will be fundraising for Kangaroos in Mid Sussex, a charity which provides respite clubs and essential support for individuals with learning disabilities, including those living with epilepsy.

The chosen charity holds particular significance for the organiser and their family, as it has been selected in memory of a sister-in-law.

This year also marks the 10th anniversary of her passing, making the cause especially meaningful.

Alongside fundraising on the day, attendees will be encouraged to donate items from an Amazon wish list for children currently receiving care in hospitals across Sussex.

A fundraising raffle will form a key part of the event, with organisers appealing to local businesses to donate prizes in support of the cause.

All contributions will help ensure Kangaroos can continue its vital work supporting families across Mid Sussex.
