Council Cracks Down On Unlicensed Ice Cream Vans

Brighton and Hove City Council has warned that ice cream vans trading along the seafront without permission could face enforcement action.
The authority says only one van is currently licensed to operate on the seafront, at Black Rock next to Volk's Railway station.
Any other vans selling from the promenade or seafront roads are considered unauthorised.
Concerns were raised by Central Hove councillor Joy Robinson, who said council teams were working to tackle the issue despite limited enforcement resources.
She said environmental enforcement officers had agreed to patrol the promenade at least twice a week and move on unauthorised traders.
Councillor Andrei Czolak, chairman of the council's licensing committee, said operators must have the correct permissions in place and warned that those trading without them could face penalties.
Residents who spot suspected unlicensed ice cream vans are being encouraged to report them to Trading Standards, providing vehicle details and photographs where possible.
