Four Arrested On Suspicion Of Kidnap In Hailsham

Four people, including two teenage boys, have been arrested on suspicion of kidnap following an incident in Hailsham.


Emergency services were called to an address in Hawks Town Crescent at around 9:25pm on Saturday, after reports that threats to kill had been made.


A 16-year-old boy suffered minor facial injuries, according to Sussex Police.


Two 16-year-old boys, along with two men aged 18 and 21, were arrested on suspicion of kidnap. All four have since been released on bail while enquiries continue.


One of the teenagers was also arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class B drug.


Detective Inspector Daniel Dugan said officers are continuing to pursue a number of lines of enquiry.


He added that there will be an increased police presence in Hailsham, as well as in the Bailee Avenue area of Eastbourne, while the investigation is ongoing.


Police have reassured the public that there is no wider risk to the community.
