Rail services between Brighton and London are facing major disruption after an emergency incident near Balcombe.

All lines between Haywards Heath and Three Bridges have been closed, with power to the railway switched off to allow emergency crews safe access to the track.

Southern Rail says a limited rail replacement bus service is running between Haywards Heath and Gatwick Airport, though capacity is restricted.

Direct trains between Brighton and London have been cancelled until at least 9am, with widespread changes across the network. Services from Littlehampton and Eastbourne are terminating early at Haywards Heath, while Gatwick Express trains are only running between Gatwick and London Victoria.

Routes between Brighton and Cambridge have been suspended entirely, and other services are running in sections where possible.

Emergency services and Network Rail staff remain at the scene. The cause of the incident has not yet been confirmed.

Passengers are being advised to check before travelling and allow extra time for their journeys as disruption continues.

Tried Drive Mad after seeing it mentioned in a forum, and it definitely lives up to the hype. It’s one of those games where you fail a lot, but you instantly want to try again.
