Police have made three arrests and seized drugs and cash following early-morning warrants at three addresses in Bognor.

Officers carried out simultaneous searches at homes in Flansham Park, Orchard Way and Hawthorn Road at around 8am on Friday, January 30, acting on information about suspected drug dealing.

Further searches were also carried out later in the day at a storage container.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and has since been charged.

A 27-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A and Class B drugs and have been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Detective Superintendent Col Garman said the warrants were part of a planned operation involving the Tactical Enforcement Unit, Neighbourhood Policing Team and Crime Investigation Team.

He said officers recovered suspected Class A and Class B drugs, along with a large quantity of cash.

Det Supt Garman added:

“We understand the concerns of residents about the impact drug dealing can have on communities, including associated crime and anti-social behaviour.
“That’s why we are determined to disrupt the supply of drugs which cause so much harm.
"I’d like to thank members of the public who have shared information, and I continue to urge anyone with concerns about drug offences to report them.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sussex Police online or by calling 101.

Alternatively, reports can be made anonymously to CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111.

It's heartening to see law enforcement tackling drug issues in our communities. However, I wonder about the support systems for those arrested. It’s crucial we offer rehabilitation alongside justice for lasting Slope.
