Train services between Oxted in Surrey and Uckfield in East Sussex are running again after engineers repaired a track defect.
Southern says trains are currently operating at reduced speeds, with passengers advised to expect delays of at least 20 minutes.
The speed restriction is expected to remain in place until midday today (Monday).
The disruption follows a weekend of widespread problems on the Southern network, including the derailment of a train near Lewes.
The line between Lewes and Haywards Heath remains closed, with disruption expected to continue while the derailed train is recovered and repairs are carried out.
Meanwhile, services between Eastbourne and Polegate have resumed following a landslip on Saturday, although trains are operating to a revised timetable.
