East Preston Stabbing: Victim In Critical Condition

A man in his 20s was in a critical condition in hospital last night (April 15) after he was stabbed in East Preston.

The victim, who had received a potentially life-threatening wound to his abdomen, needed to be airlifted away from the scene in Sea Road near Littlehampton.

Yesterday evening, a police search involving a helicopter had begun for two suspects, who were believed to be on foot in the East Preston area.

The incident was first reported to police at around 4pm yesterday.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Alan Pack said at the time:

“We are conducting a number of fast-time enquiries to identify the suspects in this matter.

“The victim is in a critical condition and we are determined to locate those responsible. 

“Did you witness the assault? We urge anyone with information to get in contact with us without delay.

“We have stepped up patrols in the area while enquiries are ongoing.”

Late on Thursday evening, police requested that anyone who witnessed the incident or anything suspicious should call officers on 999 quoting serial 974 of 15/04.
