Festival Celebrating Local Food, Green Spaces In Worthing

The GreenDreams Community Food & Greenspaces Festival returns to Worthing next Sunday (Sept 19).

The festival, now in it's 5th year, will be held within the Green Flag award -winning grounds of Field Place Manor House & Barns, just off The Boulevard in Worthing.

The event is designed and led by community-based groups and organisations, bringing together a wide variety of community and social enterprise groups involved in food projects, small-scale local food production and greenspace initiatives from both districts.

The aim of the festival is to demonstrate and celebrate the idea that food and green spaces are central to well-being and quality of life.

The community groups that organise the event are involved in 'creating skills and employment in a socially inclusive way, crafting great products, spaces and activities for people to use and enjoy' all the while practicing the 'reduce, re-use and re-cycle' approach to the environment.

The festival will feature locally grown food and produce and workshops and activities for all the family.

These include ukulele workshops, slime making, foraging, honey spinning, environmental awareness activities and food workshops.

There'll also be funfair rides, train rides and a bouncy castle as well as local beers and live entertainment.

Entry is free and the event runs from 10.30an until 4pm.
