A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after emergency services were called to reports of a woman in distress in Peacehaven.
Paramedics reportedly fought to save the life of the woman at a house in Skylark Avenue.
A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and administering a noxious substance, after medics pronounced the woman dead on Monday afternoon (March 25).
Police said the man and woman were known to each other.
A spokesman for Sussex Police:
“Emergency services were called to a report of a woman in medical distress at an address in Skylark Avenue, Peacehaven, on Monday afternoon (25 March).”
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the woman’s death and her next of kin have been informed.”
