Sussex Police PCSO Performs With TV Choir For Katie Piper Charity

A choir made up of key workers including a Sussex Police PCSO, has reunited since its Britain's Got Talent performance and sung at a charity event hosted by Katie Piper OBE.

The Frontline Singers, who made their debut on Britain’s Got Talent (BGT) in 2022, took part in a Christmas Carols night in aid of The Katie Piper Foundation, which supports survivors of burns and traumatic scarring.

PCSO Demi Georghiou, who has been a member of the choir since its formation, said:

“It was an honour to perform for the Katie Piper Foundation (KPF) and to be reunited with the rest of the group once again.

"We were formed during the COVID-19 pandemic and rehearsed remotely. Being part of the group has been incredible for my mental health and wellbeing. Our performances on BGT are memories that will stay with me forever.

“It’s always nice to see Simon (Cowell) again and he couldn’t have been any more supportive since our time on BGT. He was very complimentary of our performance for the KPF.

“I’m so proud to be a part of this amazing group of people, and I look forward to what I hope will be many more performances with them in the future.”

The group sang at the event in front of BGT judge and patron of The Katie Piper Foundation, Simon Cowell. They performed an original song penned for the charity by musical theatre writers and founders of The Frontline Singers, James Beeny and Gina Georgio.

Formed from key workers across the country during the COVID-19 pandemic, the group rehearsed remotely and made their first live appearance together during the latest series of BGT, hosted by Ant and Dec.

They landed a prestigious spot in the live semi-finals of the popular show, and their performances and dedication to their work during the pandemic won the hearts of the nation and ensured they were well remembered.

James and Gina had previously written ‘Strange Old World’ for the group, which was performed by the group on BGT. It has since been recorded as a single at the world-famous Abbey Road Studios in London and made available to download and stream with all proceeds going to charity.

The single can be found online at https://thefrontlinesingers.ffm.to/strangeoldworld
