Police investigating an assault on a boy in Worthing have made an arrest.
The 14-year-old suffered facial injuries as a result of the attack that happened in West Park, off Shaftsbury Avenue, at around 3.30pm on Saturday 18 September
On Tuesday (September 21), officers arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was interviewed and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
PS Craig Burgess of Worthing Police said:
"This was an unprovoked attack on a young victim and we have been able to make a swift arrest following a number of enquiries.
"We take violence against young people incredibly seriously and will always look to take positive action."
