Worthing Tory Councillor Accused Of Being Member Of UK Fascist Organisation

A press release from the labour group at Worthing Borough Council has called for the resignation of one its conservative councillors, following allegations that he's a closet fascist.

Hope Not Hate, a campaign group, "with its roots firmly in the British anti-fascist movement" has accused Conservative Councillor Tim Wills of the Marine Ward in Worthing of being a member and advocate of far right group Patriotic Alternative (PA).

On its website Hope Not Hate said Mr Wills was an "enthusiastic supporter" of the group that "seeks the removal of ethnic minorities from the UK," and it published examples of his posts yesterday (Oct 6) that he allegedly made on a private Telegram chat group.

In June 2021 it appears Mr Wills joined the group, making it clear that he endorsed the far-right racial politics of the organisation:

“No more listening to the lies they spread, it’s the day of reckoning for the blood we share!”

Although Mr Wills initially spoke out against the Conservative party in the group chat, saying that it was “the worst for talking the talk and never delivering” and that “at least Labour admit the cucks they are," there were clues as to his real identity within his posts:

“Trying to infiltrate and influence those in power is our initial best way forward as we have no chance of political power any time soon, sadly. My view is Tories are best of a rotten lot as still have a right wing minority who are on on side”

Cllr Wills on Telegram, 11/06/2021

He later revealed himself to be a Tory councillor, saying that the only reason he hadn't put himself forward for the then vacant position of regional organiser for the group, was because of his 'sensitive job'. However, this did not apparently stop him from using his first and middle names while conversing on the chat group and revealing details of his life.

Commenting on the posts of other members who were focusing on Covid-denial and anti-vaccine sentiments, Wills urged fellow members to focus on more overtly racist conspiracy theories instead:

“My view is Covid is a loss maker for us, we just need to centre on white genocide […] because many of our white race are convinced about vaccines, but not about our replacement, and need to be informed about this?”

In another message, he urged fellow members to “Remember the 14 words”, a reference to the 14-word white supremacist slogan “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children”, a call to arms formulated by white supremacist terrorist David Lane, who was sentenced to 190 years in prison for his role in the murder of a Jewish journalist.

Patriotic Alternative was founded in 2019 by Mark Collett, a former director of publicity for the British National Party. Although it appears to have a social conscience, with pictures of its members litter-picking and donating to the homeless, the underlying theme of the group is much more sinister.

From it's website:

"Our aim is to raise awareness of issues such as the demographic decline of native Britons in the United Kingdom, the environmental impact of mass immigration and the indoctrination and political bias taking place in British schools."

Research by Hope Not Hate has found that much of the group's membership and leadership hail from similar far-right backgrounds, such as the "now-proscribed Nazi terror group National Action and violent hooligans like the Pie n Mash Squad".

A press release from Worthing Borough Council's Labour Group, stated:

Cllr Wills was elected to Worthing Borough Council representing Marine Ward in 2019. He is currently Vice-chair of the Joint Governance Committee, a member of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee and is Policy Advisor to the Executive Member for Resources.

"I am appalled that Cllr Wills is part of, and sympathetic to the views expressed by, this fascist organisation.

As an elected representative, he holds the privilege and responsibility of working with everyone in Marine Ward and across Worthing Borough.

For Cllr Wills to hold and express views on white supremacy and the removal of ethnic minorities from our Communities is not a view that has any place in Worthing Council, regardless of Party or Politics.

“We understand that Cllr Wills has had the Conservative whip removed meaning that he no longer sits on the Council representing the Conservative Party and will sit as an independent. In our view he is not a fit person to hold public office and he should resign as a Councillor with immediate effect.

“By expressing those views he has shown himself to be a person who is not capable of representing all those who live in his Ward and his presence would be a stain on the integrity of the Council as a whole.”

Mr Wills has been approached for comment.
