Tackling Fuel Poverty Together

Everyone knows that living in a cold or damp home can have serious negative consequences on both physical and mental health.
This is why, Arun and Chichester Citizens Advice, Citizens Advice in West Sussex – North, South and East, and Citizens Advice 1066 have joined together and launched a new Winter Energy Efficiency Campaign to help tackle fuel poverty by making sure that everyone in Sussex has access to free energy efficiency advice this winter.
The energy service is completely free of charge and is here to help with any energy query clients might have. The energy advisers are available Monday to Friday to help keep people warm over the coming months and offer advice on issues such as:
- Energy bill payments
- Taking action with energy debt
- Switching suppliers
- Signing up for new and existing grants
- Making homes more energy-efficient
- Assisting with home improvements
- Tips on how to keep warm this winter
The local advice centres are passionate in their goal to tackle fuel poverty and believe that no one should have to choose between eating and heating or suffer health implications due to the ongoing energy crisis.
The collective aim is to offer this FREE service to as many people as possible, to ensure that anyone who
wants or needs energy advice this winter can access it.
To get free energy efficiency advice, call on freephone 0800 145 6879, Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm, email [email protected] or request a video appointment. Home visits may be available but please call the team in the first instance.
Other ways for people to ensure they are getting access to all the help they are entitled to are:
- Accessing the hints and tips document on their website.
- Signing up to the Priority Services Register - a free UK wide service which provides extra advice and support, including when there’s an interruption to your electricity, gas or water supply.
