Four people have been injured following a serious crash in East Sussex during the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).

Emergency services were called to Ivyhouse Lane, near Hastings, after a vehicle was involved in a collision.

Sussex Police say all four occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries, with one person airlifted to hospital in a serious condition.

A road closure remains in place between the junction with Chowns Hill and the crossroads with Moor Lane and Rock Lane near Three Oaks while investigations continue.

Motorists are being advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.

In a statement, Sussex Police said:

"The closures are expected to be in place for some time while we investigate this incident, and motorists are advised to find alternative routes.
"We are reviewing the wider circumstances of the collision."

Anyone travelling in the area is urged to allow extra time for their journey while the road remains closed.

Horrible news from East Sussex — four injured, one airlifted. Hope the seriously hurt person pulls through. I've been using https://image-gpt.net
