A Sussex village has taken top honours in this year’s The Sunday Times Best Places to Live guide – putting the region firmly in the spotlight.
Lindfield has been crowned the best place to live in the South East, praised for its strong community spirit, excellent schools and picturesque setting.
Judges highlighted the village’s charming high street, independent businesses and welcoming atmosphere, with its famous pond and surrounding countryside helping to seal the win.
Sussex didn’t stop there. Petworth and St Leonards-on-Sea also made the prestigious list, recognised for their character, culture and coastal appeal.
Petworth was commended for its historic charm and thriving independent scene, while St Leonards impressed judges with its creative buzz and stylish seaside revival.
Across the UK, Norwich was named the overall best place to live, but it’s Sussex that stands out locally – with multiple locations featured and one taking the regional crown.
The annual guide looks beyond house prices, assessing everything from transport and schools to green spaces and community life – with judges visiting each location in person.
