Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Murder After Fatal Stabbing In Brighton

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 37-year-old man died following a stabbing inside a property in Brighton.
Sussex Police said emergency services were called to reports of a fight at Moon’s Lodge in Regency Square at around 2:10am on Sunday.
Inside, officers found a man in his 30s with stab injuries, who was taken to hospital in a serious condition, and a 37-year-old man who was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 26-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder, grievous bodily harm with intent, and possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply.
He remains in custody.
The next of kin of the man who died have been informed.
Chief Superintendent Adam Hays said:
“This incident has had devastating consequences, resulting in the loss of one man’s life and leaving another with serious injuries.
“There is not believed to be a wider risk to the public and a thorough investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances.”
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant footage or information to come forward.
