A teenage electric motorcycle rider has been seriously injured following a crash involving a van and a car in West Sussex.

Sussex Police say officers were called to Burndell Road in Yapton at around 3.45pm on Saturday.

A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of a Ford Transit, a 29-year-old man, was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A 50-year-old man who was driving a Nissan Micra was not injured.

Police say the car and electric motorcycle were travelling southbound, while the van was travelling northbound at the time of the collision.

Emergency services, including an air ambulance, attended the scene.

Sussex Police are now appealing for witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage, to come forward.
