Two men have pleaded guilty to a string of business burglaries in Hastings.

Police launched an investigation after a series of offences in the town centre between 8 and 15 April.

Officers from neighbourhood teams, supported by specialist burglary units and CID, quickly identified and arrested those responsible.

David Morten, 42, of no fixed address, admitted 11 burglaries, two attempted burglaries and two shop thefts at Brighton Magistrates’ Court.

He is due to be sentenced at Lewes Crown Court on 14 May.

Oliver Cassin, also of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to three counts of burglary at Crawley Magistrates’ Court and will appear in court again on 18 May.

Police say enquiries are ongoing and patrols in the area have been stepped up.
