Two Men Charged Over Car Thefts In Bexhill And St Leonards

Two men have been charged in connection with a number of car thefts in Bexhill and St Leonards.

The thefts took place during July, August and September this year.

Police carried out a warrant at an address in Bexhill on 23 September, where a man was arrested as part of the investigation.

A second man was arrested the same day following a vehicle stop in West View, Hastings.

Jake Simms, aged 31 and of no fixed address, was charged with burglary, conspiracy to steal a motor vehicle and three counts of fraud by false representation.

Terrence Bailey, 39, of Priory Road in Hastings, was charged with conspiracy to steal a motor vehicle and two counts of failing to provide a specimen for analysis.

Both men appeared before Brighton Magistrates' Court on 24 September and were remanded in custody.

They are due to appear at Brighton Magistrates' Court again on 22 October.
