Arrest Made In Brighton As Police Increase Patrols Ahead Of Conference

Police in Brighton have arrested a man wanted in Wales, as security increases ahead of the Labour Party conference on the 25th.

Police have been making preparations for the conference by stepping up patrols in the area for the conference, which will end on Wednesday, September 29th and is held at the Brighton Centre and Hilton Metropole.

On security patrol along Kings Road on Saturday, September 11, police approached an ice cream van, unlawfully parked on the pavement.

Upon speaking to the man inside, they discovered there was a warrant out for his arrest in relation to an assault in Wales.

The 47-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assault and later released under investigation.

Anybody who witnesses anything suspicious during that time or in the build-up is asked to report it online or by calling 101, quoting Operation Otter.
