Brighton Drug Dealer Jailed

A man spotted acting suspiciously in Brighton has been jailed after officers found drugs in his sock.

A member of the public alerted police to Rotislav Georgiev, 28, after he was seen handing packages to people at Phoenix Place near The Level shortly after 10pm on August 4.

The car he was driving, a silver Peugeot hire car, was tracked by police, who stopped it in nearby Baker Street.

Georgiev admitted to having drugs and, following a search, officers found 21 packets of cocaine in a sock in his pocket as well as £1,000 in cash.

Georgiev, of no fixed address, was charged with possessing class A drugs with intent to supply.

At Lewes Crown Court on September 9 he admitted the charge and was sentenced to two years and eight months in custody.

Investigator Rose Horan said:

“Officers responded swiftly to information given to us by a member of the public concerned about drug dealing.

“They were able to quickly stop and detain Georgiev, and stop him from supplying class A drugs."
