Five Arrested After Eastbourne Stabbing Left Teen With 'Possibly Life-Changing' Injuries

A total of five arrests have now been made as police continue to investigate the stabbing of a 17-year-old boy in Eastbourne on Saturday (April 10).

Police said the victim was attacked near The Beacon, at around 8.30pm.

He was taken to hospital with significant stab wounds to his stomach, where he remained on Thursday (April 15) afternoon.

Initially, a 23-year-old man from Kent, a 25-year-old man from Eastbourne and a 27-year-old man from Brighton were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and affray.

The three were released on police bail until April 25.

On Wednesday evening (April 14) officers arrested a 19-year-old man from Chelsea and Kensington on suspicion of attempted murder and a 20-year-old man from Hackney on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

The pair remained in custody on Thursday afternoon (April 15).

Detective Inspector Sophie McGarel added:

“Following extensive enquiries, we have been able to arrest five people in connection with the matter and have recovered a knife, which may have been the weapon used in the attack.

“The victim is recovering in hospital but the injuries he has faced could be life-changing for him.
