Man Hospitalised After Violent Unprovoked Attack In Bognor

Police have released images of suspects after a man was violently attacked by three unknown youths in a Bognor Regis street last Thursday afternoon.

The 25-year-old victim was walking along Nyewood Lane between 4.30pm and 5.30pm last Thursday (Dec 9) when he was approached by three unknown males who started talking to him.

He asked them to leave him alone and continued walking, when one of the suspects hit him on the head from behind with a plank of wood.

The three then continued to assault him and spat in his face.

The victim was taken to hospital, where he was treated for head and facial injuries and a fractured arm.

Just prior to the assault, he was able to capture video camera footage of all three suspects.

Detectives are urging anyone who may recognise either of the suspects through their facial images or clothing worn to come forward.

One suspect was white, with light brown hair down to his chin. He wore a black hoody and black tracksuit bottoms.

The second suspect was white with brown curly hair. He wore a tracksuit.

The third suspect was black and wore a shiny black jacket.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Jordon Holmes, said:

“This was a disgusting attack on an innocent member of public who was simply walking to have dinner with his friends. The suspects – all believed to be in their late teens – have initiated an attack against the victim using blunt objects, and while the victim was disoriented and dazed, have further subjected him to assault.”

Anyone with any information, including any dash cam, CCTV or doorbell footage which captured what happened, is asked to report it online or call 101, quoting crime reference 47210215044.

You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or report it online.
