It's been confirmed that a dog that severely attacked a woman in East Sussex on Friday evening has been euthanized.
It was shortly after 8pm that reports arrived of a dog launching its attacks against its victim in the garden of a property in Crowborough.
Officers who attended Hoadleys Lane with ambulance crews, said they were able to bring the woman into the care of paramedics.
She was taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries.
Police said they had to use a helicopter to ensure that the out-of-control creature was contained in a garden before it was possible for officers to enter, in order to seize it.
