'Wall Of Kindness' Exhibition At Brighton's Jubilee Library For Half Term

If you're looking for something inspirational to do over half term, Brighton's Jubilee Library will be exhibiting hundreds of entries received from children for their One Kind Word Competition.

The exhibition is in collaboration with Brighton-based children’s charity Safety Net, and will feature a colourful and creative Wall of Kindness in the children’s library over half term.

Operations Manager Jen Tulloch, said:

“We absolutely loved the hundreds of entries we received from children across the city last year for our One Kind Word Competition.

"We could only choose 12 winners and hated the idea of the entries not being seen. That’s how we came up with the idea of displaying them at The Jubilee Library.

"We are thrilled that the library said ‘yes’ to the idea."

The children’s vibrant posters contain messages of kindness – whether it is with a smile, words or a gesture.

“We are always impressed with how self-aware and wise children are,” says Jen.  

Safety Net has also left copies of its 2022 “One Kind Word” calendars for families to collect if they wish. 

Jen points out that the library has dedicated children’s areas which host story time, Baby Boogie and other play sessions for children under five years old.

“Parents can pop in to perhaps pick a book for their child (with a library card) and choose our positive message calendar to take home - and of course look at our Wall of Kindness.”
