Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Royal Parade, Eastbourne, directly outside the Langham Hotel, on Friday, 7 November.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 5.50pm after a grey Volkswagen Polo was involved in a collision with a pedestrian, a man in his 90s from Wadhurst.
He suffered serious injuries and was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital. Sadly, he died four days later.
His next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
The driver of the vehicle, aged 33 and from Eastbourne, was uninjured.
Officers are investigating the circumstances and are urging anyone who saw what happened, or who may have relevant dashcam or CCTV footage, to come forward.
Police would like to hear from anyone who may have captured the victim or the vehicle in the moments leading up to the collision.
