West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service is inviting young people in Bognor Regis to apply for the second year of its Fire Cadet programme.
The scheme, open to 13 to 16-year-olds, gives participants the chance to learn new skills, build confidence, and take on challenges inspired by the work of real firefighters.
Following a successful pilot last year, cadets took part in firefighting drills, first aid training, charity events, and community projects — all designed to help them grow personally and as part of a team.
Nathan Cross, Head of Prevention, said:
“We’re really pleased to be relaunching our Fire Cadets programme after such a successful first year.
It's a great opportunity for young people to challenge themselves, make friends, learn new skills and have fun in a safe and supportive environment.”
The Bognor Regis Fire Cadet Unit will run from January to December 2026, meeting on Tuesday evenings from 6–8pm during term time.
Young people interested in joining must apply online by Sunday 19 October.
Applications should be completed by the applicant themselves, and interviews will take place shortly after the closing date.
