A 42-year-old man from Mannings Heath has been jailed for five years and four months for offences involving indecent images of children and breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Mark Grindon was found to have more than 1,400 indecent images of children during an investigation into his use of digital devices.

He was originally made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order in 2016, which was later extended indefinitely following further convictions.

Grindon was arrested in December 2023 after police found him with a prohibited smartphone. He was later jailed for 20 months for breaching the order.

A further investigation uncovered the images and 11 social media accounts. Police also seized additional devices during a search of an address in Mannings Heath.

Grindon was found guilty of five further offences at Hove Crown Court in September 2026, receiving a five-year prison sentence.

He was then given an additional four months at a separate hearing for failing to provide passwords and access details for his devices as required by a court order.

Detective Sergeant Melanie Pyle said each image depicted the sexual abuse of a real child and that Grindon had been held accountable for his offences.
