Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses after a dramatic late-night crash saw a car plough into a house in London Road, Cuckfield, in the early hours of Friday morning (26 September).
Emergency crews raced to the scene just after midnight (12.10am) to find a 35-year-old man from Burgess Hill trapped inside the wreckage.
Firefighters had to cut him free before he was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
The impact left the property badly damaged, with the road sealed off for hours overnight while collision investigators examined the scene.
The stretch of London Road was expected to reopen before 11am.
Detectives are now piecing together how the crash happened and are calling on anyone who saw the collision — or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage — to come forward.
Information can be emailed to collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk, quoting Op Kingfisher serial 8 of 26/08.

That’s a scary incident—hope the driver recovers quickly and everyone else is safe. Really brings attention to road safety. Took a moment to read this while unwinding and briefly checking snapinsta for a quick distraction.
One wrong move and it’s back to the start – a true reflex challenge!

The Op Kingfisher reference makes me think they’re treating this really seriously, which makes sense given the level of damage described. Weirdly, reconstructing what happened from witness snippets feels like working through a caesar cipher—you’ve got the pieces, but you need the right shift to make it all line up.
That’s a massive job for the emergency services just after midnight—closing the road for hours and dealing with a damaged house as well as the driver. If anyone nearby has doorbell cams, now’s the time to check; it’s wild how we can capture everything from a crash to a ghibli ai filter on a phone, but it only helps if it was actually recording.
Really hoping that man makes it—serious injuries plus being trapped is just awful. It also makes you think about how quickly a normal night turns into a long, stressful morning for the whole street; I was literally messing around with hairstyle ai earlier and then read this and it snapped me back to reality.
