A man has been arrested after reports of a small group blocking the entrance to Crowborough Training Camp on Wednesday, Sussex Police say.
A 44-year-old man from Heathfield was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and remains in custody.
Officers are also investigating several reports of assaults and threats of violence during the incident.
The site has been the focus of recent protests following Home Office plans to temporarily accommodate 540 male asylum seekers there.
Police said they recognise the public’s right to peaceful protest, but warned they will act if behaviour crosses into criminality.
A dispersal order was issued for the roads surrounding the barracks and remained in place until 9.15pm on Wednesday.
Sussex Police confirmed enquiries are ongoing.
