Police Appeal After Fatal Motorbike Collision In St Leonards

Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal road collision on Harley Shute Road in St Leonards on Tuesday, March 3.


Emergency services were called at around 3.50pm to reports of a crash involving two motorbikes.


Despite the efforts of paramedics, the rider of one of the motorbikes – a 50-year-old man from Battle – was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.


A 49-year-old man from St Leonards was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been released and no further action will be taken against him.


Police enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances of the collision.

Officers are asking anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time, to come forward.
