Police investigating an antisemitic hate crime on board a bus in Hove have issued a CCTV image of a man they want to identify.
Sussex Police said the incident happened on a number 46 bus travelling towards Portland Road in Hove at around 2.30pm on 25 April.
A woman reported being abused by a fellow passenger during the journey.
The incident is being treated as a racially aggravated offence under the Public Order Act and a hate crime.
Officers have released an image of a man they wish to speak with in connection with the investigation.
He is described as a bald, stocky white man with a grey beard, around 5’8”, wearing a black jacket, trousers and trainers, a dark shirt and dark glasses.
Chief Inspector Dan Eagle said the incident had been “distressing” for the victim and confirmed officers had worked with Brighton & Hove Buses to secure CCTV footage.
He added that police were working with community leaders to support Jewish communities in Sussex and would increase patrols around synagogues, schools and events.
Chief Insp Eagle said Sussex Police was committed to tackling hate crime and urged anyone affected to report incidents directly to officers or via official channels.

The obstacles in Snow Rider 3D are a major reason why the game remains engaging. Players encounter a variety of hazards throughout their journey. Trees and rocks require quick steering adjustments, while larger obstacles may force players to jump at the right snowrider moment.
