A man has been jailed for prolific shoplifting across West Sussex.

Daniel Rogers, of no fixed address stole over £2,900 worth of goods from supermarkets and retailers.

The 34-year-old would pretend to shop in an attempt to not raise suspicion with fellow shoppers.

CCTVs shows him taking items that would later be discarded in other aisles, returning to aisles to pick up more items, and attempting to hide behind aisles as he stashed the goods in duffel bags and carrier bags.

His three-month spree from July to October this year included 24 bottles of champagne, six speakers, three jackets, and an assortment of other alcohol.

Rogers was arrested on 21 October and swiftly charged the same day with 13 counts of theft from a shop.

He was remanded in custody and the next day, appeared at Crawley Magistrates' Court, where he pleaded guilty on all counts. Rogers was jailed for six weeks.
